Fredric Jameson (1934–2024), a pivotal figure in contemporary American literary theory, has exerted a profound influence on Western Marxist thought. His engagement with China represents a critical chapter in the transnational dissemination of postmodernism. Between 1985 and 2012, Jameson made several visits to China, during which postmodernist theory emerged as the central focus of scholarly debate. This paper maps these academic exchanges onto three distinct historical phases. By examining this trajectory, it seeks to elucidate the bidirectional dynamics between Jameson's thought and the development of Chinese postmodern literary theory. The study ultimately aims to provide a historical reference framework for understanding the reception of postmodernism within Chinese contemporary theoretical landscape.
