Function of Sound Narration in Chinese Internet Series Under the Background of Postmodernism
This article analyzes the narrative functions of sound and music in domestic internet series with cyclical themes created under the background of postmodernism, through utilizing literature review, case analysis, and interdisciplinary theoretical research methods. It is mainly divided into three parts: the functional role of sound touch cyclical narrative, the role of music in the expression of main idea, and the innovative meaning of the sound narrative space. In the functional section of sound touch cyclical narrative, the focus is on discussing the effects of sound "changing" and "unchanging" on narrative. In the part of musical expression, music is divided into musical motif and musical clue respectively for functional research; In the section of sound narrative space, the role of recurring sounds in constructing new narrative space, as well as the social functions inherent in the newly constructed narrative space is clarified. By analyzing the narrative function of the sound and music section, this article could enrich the research on the narrative aspect of postmodern cyclical themes in domestic internet series. Furthermore, the novel direction on the narrative aspect of postmodern cyclical themes is discussed by combining with the current development of artificial intelligence in sound technology for future research.
